Senior or Principal Consultant
Position Summary:
The Professional Services department within Client is responsible for ensuring customers are successful in deploying Client products. Our Consultants work with our customers and business partners both on short-term assignments to provide Client expertise, as well as longer-term efforts that bring quality and efficiency to data management projects and ensure they are delivered in accordance with the customer’s expectations. Our Consultants utilize the Client Approach to maximize the value of Client products.
Key Responsibilities:
- A primary point of contact for clients and accountable for project success and customer satisfaction.
- Engages with a customer throughout the life cycle, advising the customer on project planning, project management, solution architecture and technical design and best practices.
- Thoroughly understands Client’s best practices, and applies them at customer projects as well as mentor others.
- Depending on size and complexity, may own multiple projects and are empowered to manage their own schedules to keep the multiple projects on track.
- Working either independently or leading a team of Client and/or Partner consultants.
- Assist the sales organization in selling Client licensed sales and professional services.
- Interact with partner organizations, leading enablement activities.
- Executes Proof-of-Values (POVs).
- Contributes to internal knowledgebase.
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least 4 years experience architecting, delivering and managing Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence projects.
- At least 4 years experience in a leadership and customer-facing role on a project for a Systems Integrator, Consultancy or Enterprise Software Products organization.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience performing business analysis, business requirements analysis to support proposed enterprise-scale systems.
- At least 4 years of experience developing data models, specially dimensional and data integration modeling for data warehouses or data marts.
- At least 4 years of recent hands-on experience working with Business Intelligence (BI) tools or ETL tools.
- Strong hands-on knowledge in relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata or Netezza). Proficient in SQL.
- Knowledgeable on current trends in Data Warehouse, Master Data Management and Data Governance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in computer science or business.
- Willingness to travel 80% of the time.
