Director, Global Consulting Practice
Primary Objective(s)
The Director, Global Consulting Practice leads, manages and develops Client’s
team of Application and Technical consultants either directly or through
subordinate supervisors. In this capacity, the Global Director will coach and
direct activities that drive quality performance at or above assigned utilization
targets, implement team improvement initiatives, fulfill administrative and
documentation requirements, and promote career growth/development. Consultant
assignments will primarily be focused on front and back office Law Firm
operations, custom developed solutions using proprietary Client’s software,
Reporting and Analytics, utilizing/managing 3rd party consultants, and other
areas of practice as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and management to the global Consultant teams and
set the Professional Services standards for consulting delivery. Drive the
consulting practice to world class standards and ensure Client’s remains the
employer of choice in the Legal consulting market
Assess and monitor the consulting work provided at client sites from
initiation to delivery to ensure service quality, client satisfaction and revenue
/cost projections are met. Ensure team understands, utilizes and follows Client’s
methodologies
Provide guidance and leadership regarding staff development and career paths.
Work with in-house training to develop or manage training curriculum to advance
skill sets and cross-train staff to meet emerging and future business demands and
needs
Administer timely performance feedback and facilitate individual growth and
development through a range of performance management activities (e.g., setting/
tracking SMART goals and objectives, coaching for success/improvements, proactive-
ly managing performance problems). Oversee and conduct semi-annual performance
reviews
Forecast servicing of projects and resource needs to correlate to sales and
business demand Plan and manage utilization targets and drive actions to support
Client’s fiscal accountability. Work with the Resource Management Office to
refine and administer the consulting scheduling model to optimize utilization
while satisfying project needs
Champion change efforts and model behaviors associated with continuous improve-
ment. Recommend changes to policies and/or establish procedures to improve
operational efficiency
Develop service offerings that focus on accelerating implementations, provide
prescriptive consulting approaches and advice, creation and evolvement of best
practices, and generate greater ROI for Client’s clients
Drive global knowledge management throughout the various disciplines within
Professional Services Collaborate with Field Operations leadership to establish
key services partner relationships. Collaborate with the Project Management
Office (PMO) to continuously improve Client’s methodology Promote and strengthen
cross-functional relationships across Client’s (e.g. Support, Product Management,
Marketing, and Technology)
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business management, accounting or information technology
or equivalent work experience required. An advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
Experience
11+ years of related experience with 7+ years of consulting firm experience
including progressive management responsibility with large scale global consult-
ing teams with a proven track record of successful software consulting
engagements with definable contributions to the business Prior experience with
large ERP system implementations (e.g. SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) with a minimum
of 5 full life cycle implementations utilizing a recognized industry ERP
implementation methodology
Prior client relationship management and experience consulting to senior
management and/or law firms is a plus
Knowledge
Good understanding of applicable technical concepts, strategies and architectures
and knowledge of operating systems and their relation to business processes.

/coaching skills with ability to adapt and lead through change and develop
individuals to their optimal potential
Proficient in prioritizing tasks and balancing others' workloads to meet
project objectives Excellent communication and presentation skills including
the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate and influence
across all management and organizational levels both internally and externally
Advanced PC skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
Travel
Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time with some international travel.
