Lead Software Engineer---Silicon Valley
As a Lead Software Engineer at Client, you will design the data authority for
Client's Directory. Client's Directory has detailed profiles of attorneys and
law firms from across the United States. We are looking for a highly motivated
individual who will take ownership of the software throughout the entire
development process.
Division/Group/Role
Client is the leading provider of online legal information and solutions for the
legal community, businesses and individuals. The Client Internet portal is the
highest-trafficked Web site, according to leading independent Internet-traffic-
monitoring services. Client also offers comprehensive information, resources and
services for law practice and legal career development, including free case law,
an online career center, breaking legal news, newsletters, message boards,
service directories, continuing legal education and legal search tools.
Key Responsibilities
Work with both business partners and project leads to gather and analyze business
requirements and translate them into technical tasks
Design and develop data correlation, text mining, and information extraction algorithms
Build frameworks for integrating structured and unstructured data
Qualifications
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Computer Science/Math or higher preferred
Experience
8+ years of related experience
Strong practical experience in search/text-mining/natural language processing
Hands on experience implementing high volume fielded and free text searches
Experience with tools performing named entity recognition, document categor-
ization
Experience using XML databases (MarkLogic) and tools like Solr/Lucene
Knowledge
Knowledge of text classification, document clustering, and machine learning
algorithms is a big plus. Working knowledge of Java is required
Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem solving and
analytical skills
Ability to think creatively and work independently, able to multitask,
design, implement and troubleshoot complex systems
